Metahint – Terms of Service

The terms and conditions presented in this document (“Agreement”) govern all use of the site Metahint.com (the “Site”) and it's embeddable search widget (the “Service”). They are binding:

• the visitor of the Site and/or the operator of a website that displays the Service (“You”)
• and
• László Kozma and Szilárd Pataki (“We” or “Us”), the operators of the Site and Service.

Please read this Agreement carefully. If you do not agree to all terms herein, you may not use the Site or the Service.

1. Use of the Site
   
   You can browse the Site using a browser and we welcome you to do so. It is forbidden, however, to process the Site via automated means (i.e. scraping) or to use it in such a way that would endanger its normal functioning. We reserve the right to block users from accessing the Site if we consider that they have violated this agreement.
   
   
2. Use of the Service
   
   You can embed the Metahint search widget in any website administered by you or another website with the consent of its administrators. You can do this by following the instructions on the Site, in effect by copying and pasting a few lines of code into your website, after we have processed the website contents. This code has to remain unchanged, it is not allowed to change or remove any parts of it, or to add anything between the

   delimiters. We reserve the right to block users from using the Service if we detect a violation of these terms.
   
   We reserve the right to modify the widget in appearance and/or functionality, and possibly to add any other content to its display. We will try to inform you in a timely manner, should such changes be implemented, but we can make no guarantees. If you decide at any time that you do not want to continue using the Service, we will disable it as soon as you tell us to do so.
   
   During our test period the usage of the Service is free for all users. In the future we might introduce paid versions alongside the free version. There might be different versions with different sets of features. We will do our best to inform you of all these changes in a timely manner. In case we change the usage terms of the free version or if we discontinue it altogether, we will always try to inform you thoroughly and either offer the choice of migrating to a different version or to discontinue the use of the Service. We will not make any assumptions without your consent.
   
   
3. Privacy
   
   We collect your email address when you register for beta testing. We will use your email address to send you an invite code with which you will be able to access the Site and use the Service. We do not collect your name, title, address or any other contact information (besides email address), nor do we plan to do so in the foreseeable future. We will not share your email with anybody and we will do our best to keep it secure.
   
   We are automatically and continuously logging your activity on the Site. These records include, but are not limited to: date and time of your visit, duration of visit, your IP address, browser type, screen resolution, operating system. This information is not used nor intended to identify you as a person. We are collecting it for statistical analysis and to help us improve our product. The Site does not use tracking cookies.
   
   We also collect information about the use of our Service on your website. When a visitor of your website loads a page which features our Service, our servers log the visitors IP address, date and time of visit, and eventual searches performed using the Service. Again, these records are not used to identify the visitors of your website, instead they are meant to help us enhance the Service. We will share these records with you, in order to give you a feedback about the interests of your visitors.
   
   We will download textual content from the website you submit on the Site (no pictures, multimedia files, scripts, stylesheets, etc.) and store it locally for as long as you keep the Service for your website active. We will analyze this content and use it to build the suggestions for your visitors' queries. Periodically, our crawlers will return to your website, looking for fresh content to download and process.
   
   
4. Changes
   
   We reserve the right, to change this Agreement, but you will not be bound by any updates until 30 days after we post a notice on the Site. It is your responsibility to monitor the Site for changes in the Agreement.
   
   
5. Termination
   
   We may terminate your access to the Site and use of the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately.
   
   
6. Disclaimer
   
   THE SITE AND SERVICE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE DISCLAIMED. IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES; LOSS OF USE, DATA, OR PROFITS; OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) HOWEVER CAUSED AND ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE) ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT OF THE USE OF THIS SITE OR SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
